Fernando Colunga began acting about 15 years ago. Once, at university Fernando heard that he looked like the actor. As a joke he decided to take part in a competition and was accepted. Fernando began his career as an actor in theatre and still he continues to take part in different staging. At first he played small parts in the novels "Maria Mercedes"(1992), "Marimar"(1994) and "Alondra"(1995) , but then the main parts: in the novels "Maria la del barrio" with Thalia and " Esmeralda " with Leticia Calderon . In " La Usurpadora" , he played the main role with Venezuelan actress Gabriela Spanic which made him a real star. At the shooting of "Maria la del barrio" Fernando met Thalia , who was already a star, and fell in love with her passionately .After one year and a half years they separated. Fernando suffered very much after the break and found consolation only in work. "La usurpadora" was very necessary here and the actor gave all his soul to his hero - Carlos Daniel, although he agreed with the critics, that his hero was too gentle. He asserts so far, that among all characters, that he has played in cinema, telenovelas and the theatre, the character of Carlos Daniel Bracho is the most close to him. There was even gossips about his love affair with Gaby Spanic , but the actors refuted everything by saying, that they are only good friends - nothing more, and really good actors if the spectators believed their acting so much!!
